about

Dalibor Kocián a.k.a. Stroon first caught our attention with his immersive sonic journey Ruine Noire EP in 2010. Since then, his sound (and a wide discography) has been consistently and rapidly evolving. Intense cinematic synth-scapes of his current release are built around percussive algorithms and hypnotizing dub-techno beats. Highly cinematic layers of sound are accompanied by dynamic vibraphone melodies and female choir vocals, which adds a touch of organics into this otherwise post-humanly cold, bass universe. As a well-informed, classically trained musician, Stroon tends to merge elements of contemporary classics, minimalism and club oriented electronica to juxtapositions which are clearly influenced by on-stage experience, both in terms of sound and structure. His latest effort 'Impermanence' proves this to a great extent, combining purely acoustic vibraphone pieces with their counterpoint – bass-heavy, industrial-like tracks softened by the vocalists of the Friendly Choir. Somewhere between you'll find electroacoustic world which brings them both together. As all Stroon's releases have had some emotional undertone, Impermanence is not an exception and it is kindly dedicated to the loving memory of his late father.
