The formal concept of the album is contemporary church music, though church purely in form, otherwise it's religion-free. Composition-wise and sound-wise, Stroon's effort was to capture the magnificence, grandeur and density of organ music and convey this stunning experience to club-goers and festival-goers. At the same time, connection to club music is obvious thanks to the “flume-like” synths. The music is dance, though not on the outside. It's more pulsating and it draws the listener to experience the rhythm without physical movement.
“I tried to use sounds the same way as when composing for chamber orchestra. Panning corresponds to this fact and you can imagine the sound as being played by a string ensemble with vibraphone. Compared to my previous work, vibraphone serves more as a colour than as a solo instrument. It represent a metaphor of church bells.”, describes Stroon his approach.
The content leitmotif is love, energy, joy and space. Stroon dedicates this record to his girlfriend Klára and the energy emerging in a close relationship. This inspiration was also projected on to the names of the tracks.
Stroon is going to transform this record into an audiovisual show in cooperation with a well-known artist and graphic designer Ján Šicko aka DevKid, who is also the author of the captivating cover art. The premiere is scheduled for autumn 2020.
“Visual concept of the project comes from the idea of a frozen moment in time. Contemplation or meditation. The visuals are based on simulations of generated movement of 'embers' in time and space, controlled by different parameterised laws. The movement of particles is visualised by trajectories which form space structures – they visualise the course of movement in different time-cuts. The listener/spectator can meditate in frozen space-time, where temporal is separate from eternal and everydayness is suspended by extraordinariness; the same kind of shift as church builders strived for.
Wrenching the soul free from everydayness into essential awareness.”, describes Ján Šicko the visual part of the project.
